The advantages and disadvantages of commonly used boards and plywood
Artificial board replaced the previous solid wood and became the main material for furniture. There are many types of man-made boards, each of which has its own unique advantages. We can say that they overcome the shortcomings of solid wood and are currently the main materials used in decoration construction, but it is often this type of board that confuses consumers. Therefore, each semi-renovator must first spend some time to figure out the common names and scientific names of various panels and their role in home decoration, advantages and disadvantages, and prices before decoration, so that they can be careful according to the decoration needs when purchasing materials. Select and check the quality.
Plywood plywood or thin core board
Plywood, commonly known as plywood or fine core board, is the earliest used wood and is currently the most used wood in this industry. Generally, it is made by hot pressing of three or more layers of one-millimeter thick veneer or sheet glue. The three plywood we often said before is made of three-layer veneer.
Different plywoods are usually distinguished by their thickness specifications. It is generally divided into six specifications of 3 cm, 5 cm, 9 cm, 12 cm, 15 cm and 18 cm (1 cm is 1 mm).
Advantages: high strength and good bending resistance. In some structural parts that require load-bearing, the use of thin core panels will provide more strength.
Disadvantages: poor stability, this is due to the consistency of the core material. This makes it possible to increase the deformation of the thin core board. Therefore, the thin core board is not suitable for single-sided parts, such as cabinet doors, etc.
